Biography

Dr. Robert Bergman is a board-certified veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon with over 25 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. He earned his DVM from the University of Georgia, MS from Virginia Tech, and BS from West Virginia University.

After a neurology residency at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, he served as Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. Dr. Bergman was Chief Medical Officer for Carolina Veterinary Specialists and PetVet Care Centers, directing multi-hospital specialty and emergency services. He is currently a neurologist and neurosurgeon with Synapse Veterinary Services and a locum clinician at  the University of Pennsylvania and various private practices.

A Diplomate of the ACVIM with Neurosurgery Certification, Dr. Bergman has published extensively on spinal biomechanics, fixation, and canine neuro-orthopedic disease, and lectures internationally on advanced spinal surgery and neurosurgical techniques.
