Biography

Colin graduated of the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2008. He returned to the RVC to complete his European College of Veterinary Neurology residency, becoming a diplomate in 2012.

He subsequently submitted his PhD thesis, concerning canine syringomyelia, to the University of Ghent, Belgium, in 2014. He has worked in private practice in southern England since, helping to establish and lead three different neurology services and serving as clinical director of two large referral hospitals. He is now based at umbry Park Veterinary Specialists in Alton, Hampshire, and is a visiting senior lecturer at the University of Surrey, Guildford. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons by meritorious contribution to clinical practice, in 2022.

His main clinical interests are the management of spinal pain in dogs, minimally invasive spinal surgery and orthopaedic spinal surgery. He is regularly invited to discuss these topics at international conferences including ECVS and with AO.
